Update
Hi everyone (or only one)
It has been a while since my last entry. Life is full of spitballs, knucklers and hellacious curves, and I have been trying to hit all three. Am still kicking. Working on a commission from the Coalition for Music Education in Canada at the moment and believe me, it is nice to have work to accomplish with a little meat on the bone.
I have been away again, dealing with the illness mentioned so often in these blogs. If you haven’t been here before, please refer to earlier entries. Fortunately, I am progressing very well and am blessed with a great medical team, friends and a WONDERFUL life partner, Trish. I am convinced that in a matter of months I will be fully recovered and up to my old tricks.
I am very interested in becoming active in other spheres of interest these days. I’ve had some art therapy (my thanks to Lesley Breen at Sunnybrook) lately that has been beneficial and I am interested in activism around mental illness. We’ll see what comes of these things.
Meanwhile my main passions: composing, arranging, playing and teaching are all in a hold pattern until things get righted around.
For friends visiting this blog: a personal message> Thanks for your supportive emails and calls. Please keep them coming. They mean a lot.
Discovered a great alto saxophonist and composer, John O’Gallagher. Worth checking out. Google away.
With all best wishes
Paul
