Sabbatical
I’m away from the university this year, at least physically anyway. In my absence, Terry Promane is acting Director of Jazz Studies. We have had our new graduate degree program approved and so I am using the year to prepare a new course for that. I’m also writing some new music at the moment as a result of receiving a commission from the Jazz Mechanics, a band that hails from Brampton, Ontario. The bulk of the work on the piece will be completed while I am living in Florida during the month of November.
